These Safety Relief Valves have been developed to provide large relieving capacity to meet the requirements of modern high-duty boilers. Their capacity is more than double that of ordinary lift type valves thereby permitting the use of smaller sizes.
The high-lift characteristic of the Valve is obtained by making use of the exhaust pressure during discharge to provide additional lifting effort. To achieve this the design incorporates a piston attached to the valve spindle and the extra load due to the pressure on the piston gives the increased lift and in consequence a greater relieving capacity.
All moving parts are adequately guided and the clearances are designed to ensure efficient operation. An easing lever is standard on all valves and to prevent unauthorised interference with the set pressure a cap is fitted over the adjusting screw and secured to the valve spindle by a lead seal and padlock.
