Blackhall Engineering Mentioned in Parliament for Global Infrastructure Contribution

Blackhall Engineering was recently mentioned in Parliament during a speech by Josh Fenton-Glynn, MP for Calder Valley, highlighting the global impact of specialist manufacturing across the region.

During the address, Josh Fenton-Glynn recognised the contribution of Calder Valley manufacturers to international infrastructure projects, referencing the valves produced by Blackhall Engineering in Brighouse that support water systems serving New York City.

The recognition reflects the long-standing role of British engineering and specialist manufacturing in delivering reliable, long-life infrastructure solutions worldwide. From its base in Brighouse, Blackhall Engineering has supplied critical valve technology to major water and industrial systems for decades, supporting essential services that communities depend on every day.

In fact, Larner-Johnson® valves manufactured by Blackhall play a vital role in New York’s water infrastructure, helping control approximately 60% of the city’s water supply. These specialist valves are designed to operate reliably for decades in some of the world’s most demanding water management systems.

Commenting on the continued work supporting these installations, James Blackhall said:

“Commissioning one of these valves today with brand new Rotork (UK) actuators from mission control in Brighouse! Yorkshire – gifting the world water!”

This recognition highlights the enduring value of regional engineering expertise and the role of Calder Valley manufacturing in supporting critical infrastructure projects far beyond the UK.
